Which documents to bring?

  • Photo ID for each person on your tax return
  • Social Security Card or ITIN letter for each person on your tax return
  • W-2 for all jobs held in 2011
  • 1098s if any (from banks, schools)
  • Any other tax forms (social security, unemployment, etc).
  • Voided check for direct deposit
  • Copy of last year’s tax return (suggested)
  • Childcare provider information (if applies)
  • Landlord’s name, address and phone number for the California renter’s credit.

Please note that we are unable to prepare taxes for “married filing separate” filing status.

Puertas Abiertas does not prepare taxes for itemized deductions.  Please visit the Earn it! Keep it! Save it! website for information on other locations that could help with self-employment taxes/itemized deductions. http://www.earnitkeepitsaveit.org/
